I just finished a 7 year game for the Metaverse League (MVL) which was required to be a Tech win. Anyway, it turned out that I had close relations with the only AI left in the game and it seemed like a good opportunity to check out the scoring differences between the different victory conditions. I know this had been done a long time ago but I was unsure of how accurate the ratios were and under what kind of game they were made.
So I ran through the 4 different end conditions and in the case of the Tech (Beyond Mortality), Alliance (Political Victory) and Military (Military Conquest) victories, I was able to end the game in the precisely same turn with the same number of ships, population, income and money spent on research.
In the case of the Influence win I was unable to win on the same turn and had to win the game 2 turns later.
I have screenshots from each of the four Endgame Summary screens. What is interesting is that in the 3 cases where I was able to end the game on the same turn I had identical results in the four components of score and in these three cases the ratios of the total score was exact with no rounding.
Here's the Tech win (Beyond Mortality) screenshot.
And here's the Alliance win (Political Victory) screenshot.
One very interesting thing to note is that the AI's scores do not change based on victory condition. I guess since none of the AI's actually won the game this probably makes sense.
The other interesting thing is that, as I mentioned, each of the four components of score are identical.
The final interesting thing is that the ratio of these two scores 39900/33250 = 1.2 exactly with no rounding.
Now here is the Military Conquest screenshot.
Again, the 4 components of scores are identical, the AI's scores are identical, and the ratio of the two scores, 66500/33250 = 2.0, is exact as well.
Finally here's the Influence win (Cultural Conquest) screenshot.
Note in this case I couldn't end the game until two turns beyond the other three end conditions but there's still some interesting information here. For one, as expected, each of the four components of score are slightly larger than in the other 3 cases. The AI's still have the same scores but with such low scores for a 7 year game it isn't surprising that they round off to the same value.
In this case the ratio is 46900/33250 which is slightly larger than 1.4. However based on the above results I have to assume that the ratio of 1.4 is actually exact and if I had been able to end the game on the same turn as the other games then I would have scored precisely 33250*1.4 = 46550.
So in summary we have the following ratios.
Beyond Mortality = 1.0
Political Victory = 1.2
Cultural Conquest = 1.4
Military Conquest = 2.0
